Psychotherapy and Counselling
Offering help with life's challenges

About Suzanne Milligan
Life in general:
I have a private practice in Bega, NSW and online. I have worked in the community non-profit sector with families, youth and adults. I have additional training and experience in Massage Therapy, Qi Gong, Yoga, Orthobionomy, Acupressure and Asian Medicine, Herbalism and Buddhist meditation. I love gardening, knitting and going to the ocean. I'm a confessed movie nerd. I love learning and am grateful for the chance to grow, change and discover, even if this can be uncomfortable at times!
My Practice:
I bring to my practice my belief that the body and mind are inseparable when moving towards healing and growth. I know what it's like to be disconnected from my body, stuck in my head or spaced out and anything but present. I also have a deep respect for how change happens--it can be sudden like a lightning bolt, or long and arduous like a mountain hike. My love of learning keeps me enthused and passionate about helping others. I am constantly amazed at how complicated and complex we humans are! Drawing on my understanding, experiences and curiosity, I bring myself to this work as a fellow explorer, accepting you wherever you are on your path.
I am excited to share ways to discover your strengths, attune nervous system health, address wounds from early childhood, and introduce compassion and curiosity about all the different parts we hold inside.
I feel honoured to be able to share moments in other people's lives and believe we all have the innate potential to heal ourselves. I offer this to individuals and couples.
My Therapeutic Approach:
My intention as a therapist is to bring acceptance, openness and non-violence to our time together. I believe you are the expert of your own life and I am someone who may be able to assist you in any changes or inner explorations you want to pursue. Ideally, you will get to a state of being where you are content with yourself and I am not needed anymore and you can continue on supporting yourself into the future.
I base my approach on present-moment awareness and compassionate presence, utilising the following therapeutic interventions:
*Internal Family Systems Therapy
*Intimacy from the Inside Out Couples Therapy
*Sensorimotor Psychotherapy
*Mindfulness
*Solution Focused Brief Therapy
